Panelist Amber Paaso has been the Learning Resource Coordinator for the Fort Bend County Women's Center since May 2007. She holds a Master of Arts in Women's Studies with a focus on transnational feminism. She has lived and taught in Asia and Europe. These experiences have given her a unique perspective on the realities and complexities of violence against women. Her work at the women's center has allowed her to utilize both her education and life experiences to provide training, e
ducational opportunities and awareness to survivors and the greater community.

Panelist, Dr. Sandy Murphy On September 6, 1974, Sandy Murphy, 18 years old, was shot between the eyes at close range with a twelve-gauge shotgun by her husband . Even though the entire right side of her face was almost blown completely away, she miraculously survived. Today over 30 years later, Sandy Murphy is a living testimony of God's Miracles, Mercy & Grace to the lost and hurting, - especially battered and abused, women, men, and children. Sandy has a Doctorate in Counseling Education/Marriage & Family Therapy for broken families, individuals, ex-offenders. Sandy has been speaking professionally for over 25 years. Sandy is a Consultant and Mentor to develop various Churches and Businesses in Professional Development for Church/Ministry Excellence and Growth. Sandy is the mother of 2 adult children: a son Tyrone, daughter, Shondra, and the grandmother of 5 beautiful granddaughters. |

Panelist, Jo McGinnis, GPHR, CCP, HR Specialist Jo McGinnis is a senior level Human Resources Director with 15 plus years domestic and international achievements while residing in the U.S., Germany and Malaysia. She holds the credentials Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR), Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), and a B.S. degree in Education. She is an acknowledged expert in global organizational effectiveness, layered upon extensive depth in all domestic human resources functional areas. Recent responsibilities included leading the Safety & Security Committee for her firm's corporate offices. |

Panelist, Dee McKinney, Attorney Dagnee "Dee" McKinney is a local attorney who practices personal injury, criminal and family law. She is a native Houstonian. She attended the University of St. Thomas and earned a Bachelors degree in Legal Studies and a Masters degree in Education. She graduated from South Texas College of Law in 1998. She worked for Jim Adler and Associates for 12 years and then became a partner of another law firm. Dee McKinney began her own private practice in 2005. She is former President of the Fort Bend County Young Lawyers' association. She has been featured in HTexas magazine as one of Houston's Top Lawyers for the People for 2008 and 2009. She is listed in Who's Who for 2008 and 2009. She has also recently been featured in Aubrey magazine. |
